Columbus Futurists is the local chapter of the World Future Society, a nonprofit, nonpartisan scientific and educational association of people interested in how social and technological developments are shaping the future.  Our members are a diverse group of professionals with a wide range of educational backgrounds, work histories, and life experiences.  Many of our members have worked at area companies including Nationwide, AEP, Bechtel, and The Ohio State University.  Membership is free.

Columbus Futurists meet each month as an “informal college”, discussing and generating ideas about the future, especially in the realms of energy and the environment, education, technology and the future of Central Ohio.  Recent meetings have covered a wide range of topics including predicting future behavior , the future of transportation, implications of narcotrafficing for US Security, and future opportunities for Ohio.  We also have once-a-month book circle at which we discuss a current non-fiction book that explores one or more of these issues.

The first step in creating a better a future is to visualize it. Please join us and help create the future.
